Licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy, Board Certified orthopedic Clinical Specialist,
Certified Hand Therapist
20 years experience
Janelle Freshman became a hand therapy specialist not only because she loves the field of medicine and working with people, but also because she sees how happy people are once their hands have recovered from an injury or surgery. Her patients benefit from her many years of experience working with the complexity of hand biomechanics.
Janelle holds a Doctorate degree in physical therapy from Western University, 2011 and a Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from Cal State Long Beach (CSULB),1994. She has completed a residency in orthopedic manual therapy at the Ola Grimsby Institute, is a Board Certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist, and is a Certified Hand Therapist. She has worked in a variety of settings, including as a part-time lecturer at Cal State Long Beach (CSULB) in the physical therapy department since 2006. Janelle is a member of the American Society of Hand Therapists.
For Janelle, working at Torrance Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Group since 2008 has been "the best because the team work here is truly inspiring. We all pull together to make sure every patient has the most successful recovery possible." In her spare time she runs half-marathons, and she is an avid bird watcher and volunteer at the International Bird Rescue Center in San Pedro.
