Licensed Doctor of Physical Therapy
General Orthopedics and Sports Medicine
12 years experience
Franklin Ortiz chose to pursue a physical therapy career after seeing people in his family work to overcome pain and recover from physical challenges. He remembers wishing he could help them, and how happy he was when he could. Today, being able to treat all of his patients brings him just as much fulfillment. He specializes in general orthopedics and sports medicine.
Franklin holds a Doctorate degree in physical therapy from Loma Linda University, 2010 and a Bachelor of Science degree in health science from Loma Linda University, 2010. He also holds an Associate of Arts degree in physical therapy, is an MBA candidate, and has completed advanced courses in his field.
Torrance Orthopaedic & Sports Medicine Group had an exciting opportunity for Franklin to join the team in 2013. He likes being part of “an organization that continues to grow” so that he can help patients with many different levels of physical therapy needs. “Patients get the best of both worlds here,” he notes. “They have a fully equipped facility and a staff with so much experience, enough to handle anything.” Franklin is an all-around athlete who runs, surfs, snowboards, hikes, and “can’t live without weightlifting.” He volunteers in the South Bay at Surfrider Foundation and at the Salvation Army in Long Beach.
